Spittin’ truth, knowledge, anger, humor, and love… we have some of the best poets of North and South Carolina that will display and perform their spoken word with an energy you’ve never seen. This event will be hosted by “Bigg B” and Sandra “The Mid Day Miss” of Coast 97.3. Proceeds will benefit the Black Arts Alliance’s NC Black Film Festival and Lumina Arts Festival!

Ras Lidj is a musician, songwriter, and performer, who has stepped forward to uplift and unify his audience. He is most recognized for combining vibrations of Roots reggae, the raw energy of Dancehall reggae, and the unique percussive elements of Washington DC’s own Go Go scene. Ras Lidj’s “Regg’Go” is a style all its own, and his songs tell stories with a socially conscious edge.

In 2010, the singer Mia ‘Harmoni Black’ Joined Ras Lidj, adding a new dimension of vocal range and quality to the Ras Lidj Regg’Go Band. Ras Lidj has performed in clubs and music festivals across the United States, and in Ghana West Africa, as well. He’s shared the stage with such artists as the Itals, 50 Cent, Junior Marvin, and Mob Deep, to name a few.
