SUMMARY:A Closer Look: America 250 & Historic Foodways Art Exhibition by Ricardo Perez
DESCRIPTION:Bellamy Mansion Museum is hosting an art exhibition\, “A Closer Look: America 			250 & Historic Foodways” by local artist Ricardo Perez. This exhibit combines 			striking portraits that commemorate our 250 years as a nation with evocative still life paintings that share stories of America’s rich culinary heritage.  \nVisitors can view the exhibit free of charge any time the museum is open (Mon-Sun\, 10 am-4 pm). The gallery space is on the second floor of the main house. Please stop by the Carriage House Visitor Center to gain admission. An artist’s reception will be held on Friday\, August 28th from 6-8 PM.

SUMMARY:“From There to Here” Exhibit: Featuring Bruce Bowman & Sally Sutton
DESCRIPTION:This September we will be joined by painters\, Bruce Bowman and Sally Sutton\, previously represented by New Elements Gallery.  “From There to Here” will feature the vivid and colorful paintings of two artists. \nBruce’s painting style uses broad palette knives which allow his work to be quick and expressive and allows for the ability to create sharp edges and tight lines. His wet-on-wet application of paint creates an impasto technique providing dimension and texture. Bruce’s approach to painting is refreshingly opposite of his work as an architect\, which requires accuracy and realism. \nSally enjoys the challenge of capturing light while experimenting with rich color combinations while contrasting them with deep shadows using brushstrokes that create movement and energy. Combining her love of nature with en plein aire painting\, she strives to share her personal reflections of the locations with her viewers. \nJoin us in the gallery on Sunday\, September 20th\, 2-5pm for our Artist Reception. Enjoy special refreshments\, meet our artists\, and enjoy live music by violinist Shirley Lebo! This exhibit will run through November 1st\, alongside a new selection of featured works by our 30+ Gallery Artists.

Founded in 1994 by Jaime Cuéllar\, Mariachi Garibaldi’s commitment to providing a quality representation of the mariachi genre has propelled them into becoming one of Los Angeles most recognized Mariachis and arguably in California. Under the direction of Jimmy “El Pollo” Cuéllar\, son of Jaime Cuéllar\, Mariachi Garibaldi is considered one of the leading Mariachi ensembles regularly called upon to share the stage with some of Mexico’s most beloved performers such as The Aguilar Family: Pepe\, Angela and Leonardo\, Juan Gabriel\, Alejandro Fernandez\, Pedro Fernandez\, Espinoza Paz\, Paquita del Barrio\, Aida Cuevas\, Ana Barbara\, Graciela Beltran\, Maria Elena Beltran\, Yolanda del Rio\, Mercedes Castro\, Beatriz Adriana\, Empress Of\, and Armenian pop star Lilit Hovhannisyan. UTRGV offers the only folklórico dance major in the United States and produces the wellspring of highly skilled professional dancers that comprise BFRG.
