As the Baron’s laboratory begins to fill up with stitched body parts\, the Baroness dallies with the randy new manservant and soon the decadent\, permissive household is consumed by an outrageous\, bizarre and hilarious combination of death and dismemberment. \nFlesh for Frankenstein was produced by Andy Warhol. This cult classic will be paired with a talk by CAM Associate Curator Ben Billingsley\, exploring the film’s relationship to Andy Warhol: Silver Clouds\, on view June 18 to September 27 at CAM. The program offers a deeper look at Warhol’s expansive practice and his influence across media\, from visual art to film.

Grounded in the tradition while drawing naturally from blues and other American roots styles\, their music reflects the full spirit of New Orleans jazz. Shaped by years of busking in public squares\, their sound carries a playful\, infectious energy that draws people in. Whether you are a lifelong jazz fan or discovering it for the first time\, their performances feel spontaneous\, welcoming\, and full of life. \nFor over a decade Tuba Skinny has grown steadily in popularity\, releasing twelve albums and touring all over the world. They’ve attracted a wide variety of fans\, young and old\, neophytes and niche-enthusiasts\, with the strength of their musicianship and the scope of their jazz and American roots music catalog. The band is composed of Shaye Cohn (cornet)\, Barnabus Jones (trombone)\, Todd Burdick (tuba)\, Craig Flory (clarinet)\, Gregory Sherman (guitar and vocals)\, Max Bien-Kahn (banjo)\, Robin Rapuzzi (washboard)\, and Erika Lewis (vocals and bass drum). \nWhile they’ve become known as world-class interpreters of traditional jazz\, over the years they’ve branched out into jug band music\, spirituals\, country blues\, string band music\, ragtime\, and New Orleans R&B. DESCRIPTION:The one-hour documentary film Minnie Evans: Draw or Die explores the inspirational life and artistic mastery of one of the most important African-American artists of the 20th century. Minnie Evans was born in 1892 and raised by her grandmother in Wilmington\, NC\, during a time of racial turmoil in the city. In the early 1940s\, Minnie began her visionary art in earnest\, propelled by her faith and dreams. \nThe documentary — its title comes from a mysterious voice Evans heard asking\, “Why don’t you draw or die?” — coincides with a national resurgence of interest in Evans’ work\, with multiple touring museum exhibitions. \nJoin us for a social hour at the Jengo’s Backyard Bar before the film showing at 6:30pm! There will be a community discussion with the filmmaker and community partners after the screening. Join this eclectic trio as they present Four Centuries\, Three Voices\, a delightful night of music celebrating beloved and exciting melodies spanning the ages. From classical to tango\, themes from favorite movies and modern pop you’ll hear “a little bit of everything.” Whether you’re reconnecting with Sharon or hearing The TAM Trio (T3) for the first time\, you’ll enjoy the artistry of these three outstanding performers. \nAll Music on Market Concerts are free\, open to the public and family friendly\nTickets are not required.
