SUMMARY:Curtain Call:Wilmington Youth Theater Honors
DESCRIPTION:Curtain Call is a celebration\, not a competition. It’s an evening dedicated to recognizing the creativity\, passion\, and hard work of young artists who have graced our stages during the 2023-2024 season. The event will spotlight standout performers and productions from schools and local theater companies\, providing a well-deserved “curtain call” for these remarkable youth. This event will take place at 6pm on January  12\, 2025 at the Wilson Center in partnership with the Arts Council of Wilmington.  The day of the event will also feature a special Broadway-led workshop from 12-3pm\, free for nominees\, and open to all others for a nominal fee. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to perform during the evening show\, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

DESCRIPTION:Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory\, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats\, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket\, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.
