Celebrate International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Tuesday, January 27 with a special screening of Among Neighbors, co-presented by Cucalorus and the Jewish Film Festival. The event features a brief introduction by award-winning filmmaker Yoav Potash, followed by an in-depth post-film Q&A compilation filmed at sold-out screenings in New York, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Blending evocative hand-drawn animation, verité footage, and revelatory interviews, Among Neighbors examines a small rural Polish town where Jews and Catholic neighbors lived side by side for centuries before World War II shattered that coexistence. Through the last living eyewitnesses—including a Holocaust survivor and an aging witness to violence committed not by Nazis, but by her own neighbors—the film reveals a powerful story of love, betrayal, and moral reckoning. Tickets are $10 and available at jengos.eventive.org.
