Encore Creativity for Older Adults welcomes new singers to the inaugural rehearsal for the new Encore Chorale of Cape Fear. Encore programs are non-auditioned ensembles for adults 55 and older, welcome to all older adults of any skill level with music.
Registration is open now for Encore Creativity’s spring semester of 22.5 hours of rehearsal time across roughly 15 weeks, with 90 minute rehearsals once per week. The season will culminate in a crowd-pleasing performance that is free and open to the public. Registration for the entire semester is $190 and includes sheet music and a rehearsal CD. The nonprofit Encore Creativity for Older Adults is the nation’s largest choral arts organization for adults 55 and over. Founded by Jeanne Kelly in 2007 after the results of the landmark Creativity in Aging study, Encore Creativity hosts thirty ensembles across the nation for older adults and focuses on excellence, accessibility, and community. The organization’s guiding mission is to provide a welcoming and accessible artistic environment for all adults 55 and older who seek it, regardless of prior experience.
