From September 12th to October 22nd, 2023, The Bellamy Mansion Museum will host Storied Waters exhibit by James Horton. View the show, free, during regular museum hours: Mondays-Sundays 10 am – 4 pm. There will be an Artist’s Meet and Greet Friday, September 22nd from 6-8 pm. To gain access to the exhibition, please stop by the Carriage House Visitor Center upon arrival for free admission.

Storied Waters
A Collection of Paintings and Drawings
Coastal – Urban – Historic

James Horton relocated to Wilmington, NC from Pittsburgh, PA in 2016 and now calls this city home. He works in many medias including Oil, Opaque Watercolor also known as Gouache, Graphite Pencil, and Acrylic. His subjects range from landscape and water scenes to interpretations of historical events and places. This is Jim’s
3rd exhibition at The Bellamy Mansion after successful shows in 2019 and 2021.

A graduate of The Ivy School of Professional Art, he worked as a Graphic Designer as well as a Technical Illustrator before changing fields and working as a Computer Draftsman. His work in these technically oriented disciplines are evident in the detail that he achieves on his paintings and drawings. He has exhibited regularly throughout his life. First with the Pittsburgh Society of Artists and more recently with The Wilmington Art Association and The Art League of Leland. He also has a number of paintings at The Artworks Gallery in Wilmington.

Jim lives in Leland NC with his wife, Joanne, and loves the Coastal scene and all of its adventure and stories.
