The City of Wilmington and the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra (WSO) present a family-friendly concert at Live Oak Bank Pavilion on the 4th of July.

The Wilmington Symphony’s 4th of July Pops Concert will feature local musicians, including WSO musicians and guest artists from Opera House Theatre Company and Thalian Association Community Theatre. The WSO will be led by Wilmington Symphony Pops Conductor, Dominic Talanca. The July 4th Symphony Pops Concert program will feature patriotic favorites (with special guest appearances!), classical selections, and current pop songs including a new original piece of music, “Fanfare for the Fourth,” written by local film and TV composers Matthew Morgan and Jose Villanueva. The WSO will also perform some of the duo’s viral arrangements of pop songs, such as “Eye of the Tiger” and Taylor Swift’s “Enchanted.”

Fireworks will take place in downtown Wilmington beginning at 9:05 p.m., launched from a barge located at the convergence of the Cape Fear and Northeast Cape Fear Rivers, just north of the USS Battleship North Carolina.
